Before we headed home on Monday we had lunch with my grandma and then visited with her at her house. I love my grandmas house. It's one of my favorite places in the world. It's calm and it's peaceful.
And, it's consistent.
She's lived there since I was born. I moved a fair amount growing up and I really think that the main reason I love my grandma's house so much is because it's always there. It's always the same. Aside from the carpet and the couches and the wallpaper and the appliances and the big trees out back... it's pretty much the same as it's been my whole life.
And I love that.
And now my kids love it too.
Here are some pictures of things that mean a whole bunch to me.
Things I always want to remember.

Love this! Bonga's house in California was the same way for me (and still remains that 'happy place' in my memories). I wish I had thought to take pictures of those things I loved before we moved her to Idaho. Of course, I was just a kid. You're so lucky.
By the way, beautiful picture of you (and your grandma). I really am loving the eyebrows.
I feel the exact same way. I went there last night and just chatted with her. She is so sweet. And I love that she is up at 10:15 when I drop by. I love the way it smells too. Just a subtle, pleasant smell that says: this is Grandma's house.
