On Monday morning, Mason and I (Ryan had to work) went to my ultrasound appointment to get a look at the baby. Mason was really anxious to find out the baby's gender and as soon as we got into the room, he asked the tech "Do you know if it's a boy or a girl?" She told him that she would try to find out. A few minutes into the ultrasound he said "So is it a boy?" She couldn't tell right away because the baby was all scrunched up. But the baby did give Mason a thumbs up, which I thought was a good sign.
After we found out that the baby was, in fact, a boy (there was no question) Mason was thrilled and said "Okay, can we go now?"
After we left we had planned to stop and get blue balloons to take to Ryan and the girls at school, but there's still a helium shortage so we headed to the dollar store instead. We bought some corny little blue favor boxes and filled them with mini Baby Ruth bars and a few other treats. We got Ryan a "Baby Boy" ribbon and a little smiley face balloon (without helium) and stuck a blue bow on it. It was totally cheesy, but Mason was excited to take it to him at work.
Then we dropped off the little boxes at school for the girls and went to lunch to celebrate. We have a couple of names that we like, but not many. Girl names are so much easier to agree on, I think.
Name or not, we're really excited for this little guy to get here and Mason is thrilled that he is finally going to have a little brother!
